Licks From the Top
This lick shows how Greg Howe uses pick and fingers to solo. Here, play the second note (C note - 15th frets on A string) with your middle finger.
May I recall you that an Arpeggio major or minor has only 3 notes in it. Namely, the tonic, the 3rd and the 5th . But here, Frank adds a 2nd to this arpeggio. So, we have the Tonic, the 2nd the 3rd and the 5th.
You can do the same by adding to a natural arpeggio a 7th or else it is up to you.
This is more an exercise than a lick as such. It is in C major and gives a different approach to scales. Don’t be afraid of the wide gap between D -3rd string 12thFret and F - 5th string 6thFret.
